April 12, 2018 Pupdate

The pupsters hit a new milestone today.  They can nurse while the MaterGator stands!  They can’t quite maintain it if she doesn’t hold still but they can all manage it.
So far, no teefers but they are pretty good at lapping from the flying saucer.  And wallowing in it.  They are all ready for when they get meat soaked in goat’s milk to really get in there and wear it.  They had a little formula snack while the Mama and Nanny McPhoebe ate chicken in their crates.  GrammieSammie was on hand to clean them up afterward just like a good Grandma should.
They are becoming more and more coordiated and I’m continually surprised by how people oriented they already are.  It’s a good thing but still amazing how happy they are to see us.  They are also pretty happy to see the other dogs but so far, people win out over dogs (except their Mama, she always wins)
Today during one of their nursing sessions, the ones that finished up first (they can eat FAST) were playing with Caly’s ears and trying to lick her face and chew on her feet - general puppy stuff - when I realized that Phoebe was letting puppies do the same thing to her (she was lying in the pen with us).
The pupsters are awake for longer stretches at a time now, too.  They have a few minutes to develop new interests and explore the new toys.  They do get the caterpillow and the piano every day, at least so far.  Those are popular toys.
It was really nice outside today so we spent a large chunk of it with the doors open and letting the breeze blow through.  Better than the snow Monday morning.  Pretty soon, we’ll all be heading outside.  I spent part of their naptimes today getting things prepped.  There’s still more to do but there’s always more to do ;-)
Tomorrow, Uncle Indy and Aunt B are supposed to come with the aunties.  The puppies are planning an adventure.  Smart puppies are resting up now for it.  I’m going to try to be smart like the puppies and say Nighty Nighty Nighty for now.  Puppy breath to all
