April 6, 2016 Pupdate

It's been a busy day of puppy watching and cuddling here.  They sing and eat and get cuter and grow.

The new talking kitchen scale came today so although we held a weight watchers meeting together, it is theoretically possible to do it myself again now.  I say theoretically, because they are pretty lively at times and hard to keep them on the scale.  It may resort to the closest 2 out of 3 method if they aren't more still.  I weighed Orange aka Phlox (the Wild is implied at the very least) twice today because she was so wriggly.  Since they are obviously growing (all of the wieghts were higher and we've had to loosen collars again), I'm going to deem the numbers materially correct.

Since Mila had a big haircut yesterday (it's hot work lying in the pool on fleece feeding puppies 23 hours a day and digging up new homes in your spare time), we wanted to bathe her today.  Finding the few minutes that no puppy was eating took all afternoon but since her hair is nice and short, the bath didn't take long.  She didn't even need to be covered with a towel to keep them warm and dry.  The extra fleece in the pool kept the regular piece dry and I removed it when she went on one of her potty/nest scouting trips short thereafter.  She seems to be cooler and I know she is clean again - at least for now.

And their mobility continues to increase.  I think in the next day or so, at leasst one of them is going to successfully scale Mount MamaMila.  So far, they keep rolling back to base camp and consoling themself with a drink with the rest of the party before making another attempt. Maybe all of that group drinking is why no one has made it yet.  Or maybe it's because they aren't a week old yet and their eyes aren't open.  They are pretty sweet, happy puppies either way.

I know more than that happened but I didn't make notes of it today (In the interest of full disclosure, I may have spent a considerable amount of reinforcing puppies to have an off switch.  That may have involved cuddling them as they slept.)

Puppy breath to all
