I’m not feeling my best (thank goodness Botos is day after tomorrow) and am trying to get ready for our drive to Louisville and back for puppy CERFs (that’s not what they are called any more but old habit die hard. It’s still an eye exam by a Veterinary Ophthalmologist and there aren’t any nearby to us. We like this one a lot and the drive is easy-ish - all interstate but hopefully not all under construction) so this is going to be mostly just the notes I took on iffen today
Another good night, took them out because it was in 40s but did bring them back inside after breakfast and potties (not necessarily in that order)
Tunnel is big hit, through, hamster wheel, over the top. So far nobody is balancing on top while another rolls it but we just put it out today ;-)
Dragging box around
Everyone naked so hard to tell apart but everytime one plays with a tennis ball, I get all excited (until we switched to monkey paws; their DaddyJack LOVED retrieving tennis balls. When we switched to monkey paws, he ONLY took it by the knot part - no slobber on your hand ;-)
‘Foraged’ a little for kibble dinner.
After lunch and playtime, Aunt LeAnne and I called them inside and except for a couple of ‘off course’ while followed big dogs, they did pretty well coming to pen. Some came in and went back out. Obviously, I need to up my reinforcement rate ;-). I did better calling them in at dark
The ball pit pool became of interest today when I put the real toys in it
It was very warm (rather hot in sunshine) so I did my hosing things off with puppies out there. Some were fascinated, some were indifferent. Nobody avoided it and the wet spots were highly sought resting places.
I didn’t spray anyone directly but I let mist go over them and made it ‘rain’ a few times too.
Apparently, we’re staying outside until dark tonight since Mater and Nanny still playing with them.
Realized today, puppies need a good thunderstorm (preferably at night or naptime so as not to get in our way)
They can carry/drag pretty big items, maybe they are part ant
Currently having 4 way tug of war with jolly ball
They had figured out how to go around the little mickey mouse fence (seriously a micky mouse fence, not a euphemism) to get into the space with the grill, the dirty puppy laundry tote, the poop/glove bucket and the door (door, door, door - I say it repeatedly so they start learning to watch out for opening/closing doors) so I blocked the access point with a piece of ex pen. They protested rather vociferously when they dicovered that. And then ran off to play with something else.
Tomorrow will be a long day for me since I have to try to keep them up after breakfast since we are traveling during normal am playtime (and we know I’m not a big morning person) but I will try to at least report on the trip/results. I don’t expect anything bad (since they are only 6.5 weeks, may be ‘puppy spots’ that resolve as their eyes mature - we usually don’t have them at 8 weeks) but if you don’t check, you don’t know. And for now, we’ll send puppy breath and say Nighty Nighty nappy
