05/17/18 Pupdate

Happy Birthday to the puppies’ MiMi!
I don’t know why last night’s post wouldn’t post, I kept getting messages about it not saving.  I finally turned off wifi and turned it back on this am to get it to post.
We had a pretty good night but one of the puppies in the rubber room (not the ones in the private accommodations or the halfway houses) was fussing at 5 so I got everyone up and out for pottying.  We had a quiet potty trip (as quiet as it can be with 9 puppies - at least 3 of which can figure out the dog door to let themselves back inside but then may realize they still need to potty so they are doing the potty dance and I am trying to get them back outside.  They are torn between trying to go back out dog door or trying to get in to potty pan.  It’s quite the adventure, I need to be better about remembering to block off the dog door but I haven’t yet perfected that system.
Then we came back inside and napped until almost 7.  Breakfast was yet another adventure.  I took them all outside to potty and came back in to prepare food for all of the dogs.  (Some on paper plates so they are used to that in addition to metal bowls). Since it’s more involved to feed separately in crates (and some in private rooms), I feed the big girls in their crates first (to get them out of the way). But I also forgot to block off the dog door so I had to get 3 puppies back outside while all 9 were screaming about hearing breakfast.
Eventually, I got the bites ready and carried puppies near their chosen venue for ‘bite having.’  Then I went around and served the dessert chewies.  I am glad I am not a full time waitress, I must say.
We had repeats of this scenario at lunch and dinner time plus we had some chewing in crate times.  I did remember to block off the dog door for those times.
I can’t believe they’ll be 9 weeks old tomorrow.  And starting to leave tomorrow evening.  I am so NOT looking forward to that at all.  I understand they need to go and the new families will enjoy them immensely but I’M going to miss them.  I got some extra cuddles today and will probably do that tomorrow, too.
They were quietish for a lot of today, not nearly as velociraptorish as yesterday.  They ARE PWD puppies so they still do it, just not as much as yesterday ;-)
I have a lot to do before bedtime (and I keep stopping to cuddle puppies) so I’ll say Nighty Nighty Nighty until it’s time to say it to the pupsters.  Puppy breath to all!
