It’s Daddy Jack’s birthday and Great Granddam Jill’s “gotyou” day. They are certainly very missed. Kolache went to her new home today so at least someone has something to celebrate this year.
Puppies were good again last night. Someone fussed in the pool room so it wasn’t Deja or Red Velvet Cupcake/Bella once after the first round of songs but I sang again and the puppy stopped. It might’ve heard one of the others getting their crate treat and the songs (they tend to want all of the turns at everything). I got up just before 6, it was daylight and the stupid birds were making all kinds of noise (I am not a fan of birds) and got everyone outside before we had any fussing/potty accidents. I don’t think I need to get up that early for them but I don’t want to have any incidents either.
After breakfast, naptime and playtime; we took Galley (new big sister) and Aeire (fka Kolache) up to the pond. Galley is practicing her Courier exercises so they took turns a little. The puppy first practiced wearing her life jacket and got her feet wet, then we crated her because it wasn’t really warm yet and worked Galley. At one point, she was so quiet that we went back up to make sure she was ok (she was just napping like a good girly). Then we let her have a turn. She had a good time on and off the swim platform and in the water. She even practiced boat loading.
Baths were given and then they packed up and left. ;-(. I’m still not a fan of the puppies going away. The other puppies and I played outside, took naps and had little adventures during only puppy time. We also played in the sherpa bag so flying should be easier.
The trips out of the yard are getting more and more adventurous since the puppies can go a little further/longer now. (It’s still not like a real dog walk but 7 weeks ago they were barely tottering around the whelping pool). I can usually take 2 at a time for one of them each day, more than that and I can’t walk (they like to be underfoot a lot of the time.). We still go one at a time at least once, too though.
The big girls also needed time to go to the pond today (they were not amused that we went without them earlier). So once again, I don’t really know where all of the day went but we do still have some absoutely adorable puppies to show for it. We’re going to do a little more cuddling, go potty, crate up and sing the 4 songs. Nighty, nighty, nighty. Puppy breath to all!
